Compared to other recipes with meat, such as beef stew, this recipe can be considered easier and faster to prepare. If you crave meat but bored of fried, dry beef slices, this recipe is just for you! This recipe is a combination of green pepper, tomatoes, dried thyme with delicious beef tenderloin. So, let’s see how it’s done!
How to Prepare?
Start with dicing the tomatoes and green peppers. You can use any amount, depending on your preferences. We used small amount so that the taste of meat will be stronger.

In a large saute pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Place the beef tenderloin slices and fry them on each side until golden brown. During this process, if the meat releases it’s excess moisture let it boil.

Add green pepper, tomatoes and salt. Cover the lid of pan and wait until tomatoes and peppers soften. This will take not long, 10 minutes maybe.

Once the tomatoes and peppers soften, add a cup of water. Cover the lid again and wait until half of water evaporates. Water will make the meat tender, also will mix with tomatoes and create a tasty sauce. So do not let all water to go away. Be sure that some water left.

As the last step, add dried thyme. Remember that if you do not add the thyme in the last stage, the thyme will give a bitter taste to the dish. Usually, it’s preferred adding the thyme at the last moment of the cooking process.

Here is the perfect, tender and tasty beef tenderloin with tomato sauce. You can serve it with Turkish White Rice, mashed potatoes or vegetables if you care about those calories! - 1 kg beef tenderloin, sliced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 2 medium tomatoes, diced
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoons salt
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil over medium-high heat in a large saute pan. Place the beef tenderloin slices and fry them until golden brown on each side.
- Add the green pepper, tomatoes and salt. Cover the lid and wait until tomatoes and peppers soften.
- Pour in a cup of water. Let it simmer until half of water evaporates.
- Add dried thyme, cover the lid again and let the meat rest before you serve.
- You can serve it with rice, roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
