Notes

  • Tuna Type: You can use either tuna in water or oil, but make sure to drain it well before mixing. Tuna in oil will add a richer flavor, while tuna in water keeps the dish lighter.
  • Gherkin Pickles: Dice the pickles finely to ensure they are evenly distributed in the tuna mixture. Their tangy crunch adds a great texture contrast to the creamy sauce.
  • Creaminess Adjustment: If you prefer a creamier texture, you can add an extra teaspoon of mayonnaise.
  • Garlic Sauce: The garlic sauce is optional but recommended for an extra layer of flavor. If you don't have garlic sauce, you can substitute with a pinch of garlic powder or freshly minced garlic.
  • Mixing: When mixing the tuna mixture with the pasta, do so gently to avoid breaking the pasta and to ensure an even distribution of the sauce.
  • Serving: Serve immediately to enjoy the best texture and flavor. This dish pairs well with a crisp green salad or a refreshing cold drink.
